Hyperoll
A top-down shooter where you are armed with a bow and have to survive against waves of enemies, but with a simple twist, you can obtain a relic every time you roll and decide to keep or reRoll it.
This game was more to explore a specific genre/game that I had seen before but add the theme into it.
The idea was that every time you rolled/dashed(as I didn't get to implement the roll itself) you would obtain a Relic, that boosts your stats, sort of in a Roguelite-ish way, and you could decide to keep it for any time you wanted until you rolled again. You could prevent this by acquiring the Relic with currency dropped by killing enemies.
Overall it was an over-scoped game, and being only one led to it not being complete or even close, but that's ok.
Other games heavily inspire the art style and gameplay.
